April Cottage is a converted stable situated
in half an acre of land set back from the
owner's property which dates back to the
early 1800s. It is a pretty, one bedroom
stone cottage that has been tastefully
renovated and furnished with a contemporary
feel in mind. It comes with a spacious
courtyard garden which is for the private
use of the cottage and is not at all
overlooked, and car parking.
April Cottage is just two miles from
Cheltenham town centre and the fashionable
Montpellier, yet it has a very country feel.
The cottage itself is surrounded by fields
and boasts a welcoming feel.
With its fantastic Regency and Georgian
buildings, Cheltenham has been attracting
visitors for 300 years. Made fashionable by
King George III in 1788, it has survived as
the most complete Regency town in England -
one of the few in which traditional and
contemporary architectural styles happily
complement each other.
Cheltenham is surrounded by historic parks,
beautiful gardens and tree-lined promenades
which have featured in many good films over
the years, Pride & Prejudice, Vanity Fair
and most recently These Foolish Things.
People come from far and wide to shop in
Cheltenham. With two large shopping centres,
numerous specialist boutiques and quaint
antique shops, it has a variety to satisfy
everyone’s taste.
Probably the most famous of Cheltenham’s
landmarks is the magnificent Racecourse.
Cheltenham is known around the world as the
home of the National Hunt. The racecourse
hosts 16 days of racing in two seasons,
which lasts from October to May. The
highlight of the racing calendar is the
National Hunt Festival featuring the famous
Cheltenham Gold Cup. This annually attracts
thousands of visitors from Ireland and each
year anticipates over 200,000 spectators
over the four-day meeting.
